OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss scored eight runs in the eighth inning to break open a close game and defeat No. 20 South Carolina 12-3 on Saturday at Swayze Field.
Third baseman and Duke transfer Andrew Fischer hit three home runs in the game. Liam Doyle struck out 10 and earned the win to move to 2-0. Josh Mallitz pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless ball to help secure the win.
After the game, head coach Mike Bianco, Fischer, Mallitz and Doyle spoke with media about the win that secures the series for the Rebels after Friday night’s victory.
