ALERT: The Big Men Up Front Have Arrived for a Visit! Ole Miss Hosting Three Top Transfer Targets in Green, Kalepo and Buelow

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff have put together the No. 1 transfer portal class in the nation for 2024, according to 247 Sports, and it seems they are not done yet. Our sources indicate three big men — two offensive linemen and one defensive lineman — have arrived for a visit.  EDGE BJ Green from Arizona State and offensive lineman Nate Kalepo from Washington are in town as hoped, along with a surprise visitor, former Washington starting offensive guard Julius Buelow.

BJ Green

Green, an edge out of Arizona State, recently committed to Washington out of the portal, but now that Huskies former head coach Kalen DeBoer has accepted the job at Alabama, it appears that Green is keeping his options open.

Over this past season, Green, a junior, led the Sun Devils in sacks with six while tallying 39 total tackles and a forced fumble. Despite being listed as an edge, Green, a Powder Springs, Georgia native, can also be used to blitz from a linebacker position due to his 6’1, 270-pound frame.

If Green commits to Ole Miss, he will have two years of eligibility remaining and likely would be a starter from the moment he arrives on campus. This would be another experienced, physical, and proven talent for Pete Golding and the ‘24 defense.

Nate Kalepo

Ole Miss is also hosting former Washington Huskies offensive lineman Nate Kalepo for a visit today, we have confirmed. It is worth noting Kalepo was on a visit to Miami this weekend, and you know the Hurricanes would have loved to get a commitment before Kalepo had a chance to visit Oxford. But we can confirm, Kalepo is on campus today.

A former four-star recruit and Seattle native, the 6-foot-6, 327-pound Kalepo was rated as the No. 3 recruit coming out of the state of Washington in the 2019 cycle.

He has tallied 40 appearances as a player for the Huskies. The Seattle native started all 15 games for Washington in 2023 — 14 at left guard and  one at right guard — as the Huskies made it all the way to the College Football Championship game before falling to Michigan. Kalepo allowed just one sack in 923 snaps while allowing only 16 pressures. Against Michigan in the national championship game, Kalepo didn’t allow a single pressure from the right guard spot.

He is currently rated as the No. 8 offensive tackle available in the portal.

Kalepo and the Washington offensive line won the 2023 Joe Moore Award for the best offensive line in college football.

Julius Buelow

Former Washington starting offensive guard Julius Buelow has also arrived to Oxford for a visit that was something of a surprise.

The 6-foot-9, 313-pound Buelow will be a sixth-year senior and is a Kapolei, Hawaii native. In 2023 Buelow saw action in 12 of Washington’s games, missing two games due to injury, Buelow started nine games for that Huskies’ offensive line that took home the Joe Moore Award.

Prior to the most recent 2023 season he appeared in 19 games for Washington, making five starts in the 2021 season.

Buelow played high school football at Kapolei (HI), where he was a four-star prospect.
