Ole Miss beats out Baylor for top 2024 tight end choice Dillon Hipp

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss is on a roll as the Rebels picked up another highly sought-after recruit with the commit Sunday of 2024 tight end Dillon Hipp.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Desert Mountain High School (Scottsdale, Arizona) product had whittled his decision down to either the Rebels or Baylor, after having narrowed it down from a top six that had also included Arizona State, Auburn, TCU and Tennessee.

Hipp is the nation’s No. 38-rated tight end and No. 13 overall prospect in the state of Arizona for the 2024 class, per 247Sports.

As a junior for Desert Mountain, Hipp tallied 28 receptions for 328 yards and four touchdowns as his team finished 10-3 and en route to the Arizona 5A state semifinals.

Hipp, who remained Ole Miss’ top choice at tight end for months, made an official visit to Oxford in June after an unofficial in March.

“On my official to Ole Miss I really saw everything I needed, it pretty much checked every box for me with the coaching staff, scheme, feel, and prior success with tight ends,” Hipp told 247Sports after his official.

Hipp plans to graduate in December and be an early enrollee.
