Ole Miss offensive lineman Nick Broeker racking up awards

OXFORD, Miss. – If anyone is searching for a Christmas gift for Nick Broeker, here is an idea – a new trophy case.

The Ole Miss senior offensive lineman has been racking up the hardware lately.

Friday, the Springfield, Ill., native was named a second team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America. Yesterday, Broeker received second team All-America accolades on the Walter Camp team.

Last week, Broeker also earned the Kent Hull Award which goes to the best offensive lineman in the state of Mississippi.

Broeker was the leader of the Rebels’ offensive line that provided the support for freshman Quinshon Judkins to lead the Southeastern Conference in rushing.

After finishing the regular season with an 8-4 record, Ole Miss will next face Texas Tech in the TaxAct Texas Bowl in Houston. Coincidentally, Broeker could be blocking the Red Raiders’ Tyree Wilson who earned first team FWAA honors.

To round out Broeker’s recent accomplishments, he has accepted an invitation to play in the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., along with teammate Jonathan Mingo.

Broeker could have declared for the NFL Draft after last season starring at tackle of the Rebels. But he returned for another season and was moved to guard, the position he is expected to play in the professional ranks.
