Rebel Recipes: It’s Time for Some Mississippi Punch!
After last week, I think we all need a cocktail, collectively. I have a punch recipe to get us through another week in the gauntlet of SEC play.
The recipe comes via Garden and Gun and, fittingly, is called Mississippi Punch. Be careful with this one. It’s as strong as it is delicious!!
Let’s land a knockout punch on A&M. Hotty Toddy, indeed!
MISSISSIPPI PUNCH
- 1 1/2 cups raw sugar
- 1 quart black tea
- 1 quart bourbon
- 2 cups dark rum
- 2 cups cognac
- 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
- 1 1/2 quarts water
- Nutmeg
Dissolve the sugar in the tea. Combine all ingredients in a large punch bowl, add a large block of ice, and allow to chill. Grate nutmeg over top, and serve in small punch cups.
