AUBURN, Ala. — No. 1 Ole Miss (14-4, 1-1, SEC) takes on Auburn (14-5, 1-1) in the rubber game of the series Saturday. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. (CT).

It’s the first sellout for Auburn since Feb. of 2019. Hotty Toddy!

The Rebels won game one, 13-6, before falling 19-5 in game two.

9th INNING

Ole Miss leads the home team Tigers, 14-2, as we start the final inning. Jordan Armstrong on the mound for Auburn. 

Top of 9th

Due up for Ole Miss: 8-9-1. Alderman-Burford-Gonzalez

Alderman: Kemp flies out to center to start the 9th. ONE OUT.

Burford: The Ole Miss third baseman strikes out looking. TWO OUTS.

Jacob Gonzalez: The Rebels’ shortstop is up next, and he doubles to left center! He’s now 3-4 today.

Chatagnier: Peyton steps up with RISP, two outs. He gets an RBI single through the left side! Gonzalez scores and Ole Miss takes the lead, 15-2. 

Tolley: Banks is up to bat with runner on first. Then, Chatagnier advances to second on a balk. Banks strikes out and to the final frame we go. Ole Miss tacks on one more run and leads 15-2.

Bottom of 9th

Ole Miss leads Auburn 15-2. Due up for the Tigers: 3-4-5. Brandon Johnson comes on to the mound to close for the Rebels.

Ole Miss leads Auburn, 14-2, as we start the home portion of the 8th. Due up for Auburn: 8-9-1. Hunter Elliot back to the mound for Ole Miss. He’s thrown 47 pitches as he starts his third inning. Of those, 31 have been strikes.

Bench: Justin is HBP and the Rebs have a leadoff runner on base!

Dunhurst: The Ole Miss catcher strikes out. ONE OUT.

Leatherwood: Left fielder Hayden Leatherwood is up next. He’s got runner on first, one out. He strikes out. TWO OUTS.

Kemp Alderman: The Ole Miss DH steps up with runner on first, two outs. He hits a two-out, RBI double down the right field line! Ole Miss leads 12-2!

Burford: Reagan lines out to left field to end the frame. But Ole Miss tacks on one more as we head to the stretch.

Peyton Chatagnier: The Ole Miss second baseman comes up to bat with two RISP and no outs. He singles to left, scoring Gonzo and Burford! Rebels lead 11-1!

Ben Van Cleve: Pinch hitting for Sapp. He grounds into a 6-4-3 double play. Chatagnier out. Rebels with nobody on, two outs. Ole Miss leads 11-1.

Elko: He pops up to second to end the frame, but the Rebels score FOUR in the frame. Ole Miss leads Auburn, 11-1.

Gonzalez: Ole Miss shortstop comes up to bat with two outs, nobody on. He draws a walk. Runner on for the Rebels.

Chatagnier: Rebels’ second baseman made a huge defensive play in the second inning. He steps up with runner on, two outs. Chatagnier reaches on an error by left fielder, advances to second, RBI (2-2 FBBK); Gonzalez scored, unearned. Rebels lead 1-0!

TJ McCants: Ole Miss right fielder steps up to bat with RISP, two outs. HE SINGLES to right and scores Chatagnier! REBELS LEAD 2-0!

Farquhar: The Tigers’ second baseman steps up with runners on first and second with one out. He falls behind in the count quickly, 0-2, and then pops up to Chatagnier in a fantastic play! TWO OUTS.

Jacob Gonzalez: The Ole Miss shortstop strikes out looking as we start the game. ONE OUT.

TJ McCants: The right fielder hits a two-out double to left center! Rebels with a runner on!
