Ole Miss football recruits react to Rebels’ 43-24 win over Louisville
Ole Miss may have been without head coach Lane Kiffin on Monday evening for the Rebels’ season opener against Louisville in Atlanta, but the Lane Train kept rolling in the big 43-24 win over the Cardinals.
The Rebels were the only team on stage on Monday and you can bet not just the eyes of the college football world were on them — some of the nation’s top athletes and Ole Miss targets were also watching.
While they may not have been on the sidelines at Mercedes Benz Stadium, you can be sure they were watching from afar. We had a chance to catch up with a few of the talented high school recruits.
Rebel Recruits’ Reaction
5-Star RB Rueben Owens (Class of 2023, El Campo, TX)
“That offense was moving down the field and the defense was flying to the ball. Great game to watch. They played with a lot of fight and heart, especially with the head coach not being there tonight.”

4-Star LB Stone Blanton (Class of 2022, Madison-Ridgeland Academy, MS)
“It was amazing. The defense looked great! They flew to the ball and were dominant all night.”
Even though MRA scored like a bajillion points tonight (50 🍔), one of my favorite shots was this shot Mr. D1 offer Stone Blanton (@Stoneblanton7) gave a Prep receiver.
If you wanna see those touchdowns though, tune in to the Blitz in like 45 minutes! pic.twitter.com/0gvG1amauv

4-Star WR Braylon James (Class of 2023, Del Valle, TX)
“I loved the way they utilize their receivers. Their spread set was super clean. Matt Corral was finding his receivers in space. They really broke down that Louisville defense — definitely, something I was paying attention to. It reminds me a lot of our offense.”
