All-American Cody Prewitt expresses love for Ole Miss (video)

With National Signing Day only two days away, there are probably many recruits wrestling with decisions about where to attend college and play football. For two Ole Miss players, however, there is little doubt how happy they are about the choice they made to attend the University of Mississippi.

Before this year’s Senior Bowl, defensive stars Cody Prewitt and Senquez Golson were honored by the Mobile Rebel Club with a barbecue dinner. The two All-Americans met and mingled with many of the Ole Miss alums in Mobile, taking the time to pose for pictures and sign autographs for several hours.

Club president Walter Brand introduced Cody and Senquez, and each player was presented with a framed picture of the very first Ole Miss football team, circa 1873. Following the presentation, Cody and Senquez spoke about their time at Ole Miss and answered questions from the crowd.

Suffice it to say, it is not possible to adequately describe how important the University of Mississippi is to these two future NFL players. We’ll let them speak for themselves in a series of exclusive videos presented this week.

First up, we have All-American safety Cody Prewitt unplugged. In this video taken by The Rebel Walk, the Bay Springs, Miss. native makes it clear what Ole Miss, his teammates and Coach Hugh Freeze mean to him. He is overcome with emotion as he talks about Coach Freeze fostering an atmosphere of family that he will never forget.

So for any recruits out there who might be considering Ole Miss, listen to Cody and Senquez. They are not speaking on behalf of the athletic department, the football program or the university. They are not at a publicity function, nor are they reading prepared remarks.

They are simply speaking from their hearts—and it is obvious the University of Mississippi and its football program will be in their hearts forever.

Cody had the audience in tears, so grab a tissue before you watch!!

Hotty Toddy!

This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing with Rebel Nation. Football and all other Rebel sports are truly much more than just “college programs”. The lessons, leadership and memories will go with these young athletes for their entire lives. #allin
