Howard is the second commit of the day for the Rebels as Tennessee transfer guard Talaysia Cooper committed earlier Wednesday morning.Â
Howard, a 6-foot-5 native of Vancouver, British Columbia, arrives in Oxford bringing length, experience, and a developing interior presence after spending the 2025-26 season at Boise State. She averaged 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds across 27 appearances, showing flashes of efficiency and physicality in the paint.
Before her time at Boise State, Howard played at Liberty Flames women’s basketball, where she showed her most productive stretch. In the 2024-25 season, she averaged 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and over a block per game while shooting an efficient 58.3 percent from the field before an injury cut that season short.
That version of Howard — efficient, active around the rim, and capable of protecting the paint — is what Ole Miss is betting on as she transitions into the SEC. Howard has steadily developed across multiple stops, gaining experience in different systems while continuing to refine her post game and defensive presence.
We spoke with Howard about her commitment to Ole Miss.
“The coaches have built something special where hard work, accountability, and sisterhood come first. I can’t wait to be a part of it! Coach Yo is truly one of a kind. Her belief in me and the family atmosphere from everyone sealed it. Can’t wait to get to work and be at Ole Miss!“

At 6-foot-5, Howard immediately adds size to the Rebels’ frontcourt — something that becomes increasingly valuable in a league defined by physical post play. Her skill set leans toward efficiency rather than volume. She has shown the ability to finish around the rim, rebound in traffic, and alter shots defensively. At her best, she provides interior stability — the kind of presence that doesn’t always show up fully in the box score but impacts possessions.
For a program coming off another strong season under Yolett McPhee-McCuin, adding experienced size is a strategic move. The Rebels reached the Sweet 16 in 2025 and continue to build a roster capable of competing with the SEC’s elite.
The family atmosphere and successful program Coach Yo and her staff have built in Oxford is meaningful to Howard.
“The coaches made me feel like I was already part of the family, and the winning culture they’ve created is exactly where I want to compete and grow as a player and person. I am so excited for this next chapter!”

Howard’s addition fits a familiar blueprint under McPhee-McCuin — length, versatility, and players willing to develop within the system. This is the latest transfer in for Coach Yo, but certainly not the last. The portal has just opened, and the Rebels are already doing serious damage!
