Phifer, a 6-foot-1 guard, is coming off an impressive freshman campaign with the Blue Raiders, where she averaged 11.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. She shot an efficient 43.4 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from beyond the arc, showcasing her ability to score at multiple levels.
A versatile guard, Phifer brings a smooth handle along with the ability to impact the game both on and off the ball. Her combination of size, speed, and skill allows her to play multiple roles in the backcourt, making her a valuable prospect in the portal.
The visit also carries a strong local connection. A native of New Albany, Mississippi — less than an hour from Oxford — Phifer starred at Ingomar High School, where she became the program’s all-time leading scorer. Coming out of high school, she chose Middle Tennessee over offers from programs such as Southern Miss and Louisiana-Monroe.
Should Ole Miss ultimately factor into her decision, Phifer’s skillset would add another dynamic piece to an already talented backcourt that includes Sira Thienou and Tennessee transfer Talaysia Cooper. Her familiarity with the area could also provide a natural transition point for other newcomers adjusting to life in Oxford.
For now, the focus is on the visit — and the opportunity for both sides to explore what could be a strong fit moving forward.
