An Exclusive Visit with Class of 2027 Four-Star Corner Montre Jackson
OXFORD, Miss. — Montre Jackson is a four-star defensive back in the Class of 2027 and is an Ole Miss target who could make an immediate impact. We caught up with him after his recent visit to Ole Miss and one of the first things he made clear is what motivates him.
“What drives me is just making sure my parents don’t ever have to work again through me making it through college.”
 4-star defensive back Montre Jackson
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Jackson is from Texas and plays for Lakeview Centennial in Garland. Even against top talent in a state known for having some of the best, Jackson shines. He is a very solid corner with great ball skills, breaking up passes with blazing speed and great instinct.
Jackson plays like a certain current NFL defensive back who just happens to be a Texas native himself:
“I’d say I most frequently model my game after Tariq Woolen, just how physical he is for sure.“
– Jackson on who he models his game after
Jackson’s frame showcases the potential to really put on the size needed to compete in the SEC. He trimmed his offer list from 40+ to just eight, and Ole Miss is in the mix. These teams include: SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Duke, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
“Schools that are leading would be Texas, Ole Miss and SMU,” Jackson said of his top three schools
Ole Miss wasn’t originally in the hunt, but the addition of Marcus Woodson to the coaching staff changed the game for Jackson, putting Ole Miss up with the big teams in the fight.
“They’ve (Ole Miss) been really good i mean, especially since Coach Woodson got their. That’s really what got me down there. We had a great relationship when he was at K-State, so it just dragged over to Ole Miss.“
– Montre Jackson on his recruitment with Ole Miss
He took an unofficial visit with the Rebels the weekend of March 29, discussing it with us afterward.
“I got to talk with the head coach and defensive coordinator for about an hour each and it’s just a focus on ball, just on the location. You can say they are really about getting your education and playing some good ball and the head coach is very enthusiastic for sure.“

Jackson left with a date scheduled for his official visit, June 19-21, a key time for Pete Golding and his staff. If the Rebels can land Jackson, he could be an instant difference maker, and will mark a huge recruiting win over the Texas Longhorns.
