Ole Miss Duo Iwuala, McMahon Named to Women’s College All-Star Game Watch List

OXFORD, Miss. — Two of Ole Miss’ biggest contributors this season are drawing national recognition as the postseason approaches.

Forward Christeen Iwuala and guard Cotie McMahon have both been included on the Women’s College All-Star Game Watch List, organizers announced Wednesday. The annual event highlights some of the nation’s top senior players as they prepare for the next step in their basketball careers.

The showcase game will be held April 4 in Phoenix during the weekend of the NCAA Women’s Final Four. Only 20 players will ultimately be selected from the watch list to compete in the nationally televised contest, which will air on ESPN2.

The event serves as a final opportunity for standout seniors to represent their programs on a national stage while also gaining exposure ahead of the WNBA Draft.

For Ole Miss, the inclusion of Iwuala and McMahon reflects the impact both players have made during the Rebels’ season.

Christeen Iwuala

Iwuala has emerged as one of the SEC’s most productive post players during her second year in Oxford. The forward is averaging 12.7 points per game while shooting an impressive 60.6 percent from the field. She also leads the Rebels on the glass with 8.4 rebounds per contest.

Her presence in the paint has been particularly evident in games where she’s controlled both ends of the floor. Iwuala has recorded 11 double-doubles this season, the most by a Rebel since Madison Scott reached the same mark during the 2022–23 campaign.

McMahon, meanwhile, has made an immediate impact in her first season with the Rebels.

Cotie McMahon

The dynamic scorer is averaging 19.9 points per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the floor. She’s also contributing across the stat sheet with 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists while logging more than 30 minutes per game.

McMahon elevated her production during SEC play, averaging 21.0 points per contest against conference opponents while continuing to contribute as both a scorer and facilitator. Her performance throughout the season earned her SEC Newcomer of the Year honors along with First Team All-SEC recognition.

Dynamic Duo

Together, Iwuala and McMahon have formed one of the most productive duos in the conference.

The pair has combined to account for more than 42 percent of Ole Miss’ total scoring this season while also contributing over a third of the team’s rebounds. They have been responsible for 16 of the Rebels’ 22 double-doubles during the year.

Ole Miss previously had a representative in the event when Madison Scott participated in last year’s Women’s College All-Star Game. Scott helped Team Miller defeat Team Lieberman 71–59 in that contest.

The Rebels will soon learn where their postseason journey continues. Ole Miss awaits its NCAA Tournament destination on Selection Sunday, scheduled for March 15 at 7 p.m. CT.
