OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss has added another piece to its wide receiver room, landing former Virginia Tech and Jackson State wide receiver Isaiah Spencer out of the NCAA transfer portal.
Spencer arrives in Oxford with Power Four experience and brings added versatility to a Rebels offense that continues to reshape itself this offseason. During his time at Virginia Tech, Spencer showed flashes as a reliable pass catcher with the ability to contribute both on the outside and in space, giving him multiple paths to carve out a role in Pete Golding’s Ole Miss offense.
The 6-foot-2, 196-pound Spencer played in all 12 game of VT’s games last season, hauling in 14 receptions for 194 yards. He also returned 12 punts for 88 yards and recorded two kick returns for 29 yards.
Prior to transferring to Virginia Tech, Spencer spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Jackson State (2023-2024), where he totaled 59 receptions for 867 yards and five touchdowns.
For the Rebels, Spencer provides depth and competition in a receiver room that values speed, separation, and yards after the catch. His familiarity with high-level defensive schemes should allow for a smoother transition as he looks to make an impact in the SEC.
As Ole Miss continues to reload through the portal, Spencer’s addition gives Ole Miss another option at a position that thrives on competition — and another opportunity for a fresh start in Oxford.
