OXFORD, Miss. — As preparation is now fully focused on 2026 for Ole Miss and head coach Pete Golding, the Rebels will be without one of their key starters for the upcoming spring.
On his Instagram this past Tuesday, Ole Miss center Brycen Sanders indicated he had undergone surgery. Sanders played through much of the 2025 season with a torn rotator cuff.
Earlier this week, Sanders told me he’s “feeling good” post surgery, and he added his expected recovery time “will probably be about four months.”
Sanders is expected to miss spring football for Ole Miss, but he should be ready to go come the fall for the 2026 season.
The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Sanders signed with Ole Miss in the 2023 recruiting class Sanders. He redshirted in 2023 and then played in all 13 games in 2024. He became the Rebels’ starter at center in 2025 and played in all 15 games of the historic season that ended with a loss in the college football playoff semifinals.
Sanders has become amongst the fan favorites from Ole Miss fans, pledging his loyalty to Ole Miss for the upcoming season early and proudly. He was one of the leaders for the Ole Miss offense this season, leading the team in snaps with 1,084. The Chattanooga, Tennessee native set the standard for himself and his teammates, jumping on the opportunity this past season, his first season as a starter.
Pete Golding and John Garrison and have started strong in the transfer portal to keep the offensive line beefed up, acquiring Carius Curne from LSU and Troy Everett from Oklahoma. Along with Sanders’ return, Patrick Kutas and Delano Townsend have also announced their plans to be back in 2026.
