OXFORD, Miss. – In the process of preparing for the College Football Playoff semifinals, Ole Miss is simultaneously recruiting in the transfer portal to build their roster for the 2026 season.

On Monday, Pete Golding received a long-awaited commitment from Mississippi native Jehiem Oatis. With one year of eligibility, the Colorado transfer defensive lineman will return home to play alongside Will Echoles, Kam Franklin and other talented players for Golding.

Career Rundown

Exiting Columbia (Miss.) High School, Oatis was a top-100 player in the country as well as an Under Armour All-American. Originally committing to Alabama, Oatis spent three seasons with the Tide, playing for both Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer. During his time in Tuscaloosa, the 6-foot-5, 325-pound tackle played in 29 games, totaling 52 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks.

This offseason, Oatis entered the portal and decided to play at Colorado for Deion Sanders, appearing in 11 games and tallying 9 tackles along with one pass breakup. With one year to play, expect Oatis under defensive line coach Randall Joyner to become a big-time rotational piece and someone who collaborates efficiently with Will Echoles.
