Trinidad Chambliss Earns SEC Offensive Player of the Week After Dominant Egg Bowl Performance

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss added another milestone to his breakout senior campaign on Monday, as the Southeastern Conference named him SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week following his dominant performance in the Rebels’ Egg Bowl victory.

Chambliss delivered one of the best outings of his Ole Miss career on Friday in Starkville, carving up the Mississippi State defense with poise, precision, and a whole lot of firepower. He completed 23 of 34 passes for 359 yards and four touchdowns, marking his seventh 300-yard game in just 10 starts this season. He added 26 rushing yards as well, finishing with 385 yards of total offense in the rivalry win.

His latest performance didn’t just seal an 11–1 regular season for Ole Miss — it also pushed Chambliss into elite company within the program’s storied quarterback history. With 3,016 passing yards on the year, he becomes only the seventh Rebel quarterback ever to surpass 3,000 yards in a single season. He now ranks 11th all-time in passing yards for a season and 10th in total offense, climbing those lists rapidly as the postseason approaches.

Since taking over the starting job in Week Three, Chambliss has played like a man on a mission, averaging 348.6 yards of offense per game, including a remarkable 300 yards per game in SEC play. His command of the offense has transformed Ole Miss into one of the most explosive units in the country—and a legitimate national contender.

Now sitting at 11–1 (7–1 SEC), the fifth-ranked Rebels await their postseason assignment. Ole Miss entered the last College Football Playoff rankings at No. 7, with the final CFP release scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 7, on ESPN.

Whether Ole Miss lands a playoff berth or hosts a first-round matchup, one thing’s certain: Trinidad Chambliss has become the engine driving this historic Rebel season — and the SEC has officially taken notice.
