OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss is four days away from taking on the Georgia Bulldogs for the second time this season, following a 43-35 loss in Athens during the first matchup.
Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss addressed the media Sunday, discussing what went wrong in the fourth quarter of their last game against Georgia when the Rebels scored zero points, collected just 13 total yards, and allowed 17.
“I wouldn’t even say the environment was too crazy. I got in my own head a little bit and then was short-arming throws… I wouldn’t say the crowd got to me, I’m used to that at this point.“

This time around, Trinidad acknowledged that being in the Sugar Bowl presents much higher stakes for both teams involved, as the winner will extend its College Football Playoff run while the loser’s season will come to an end.
“It’s the playoffs now, it’s the season on the line, so you have to go out and execute… we have to play physical, fast, ball out, and have fun.”
Chambliss on the significance of the game
In their recent performances, the Bulldogs — who received a first-round bye in the playoffs — dismantled Alabama in the SEC championship game, winning 28-7, after taking down Georgia Tech in the final week of regular-season play, 16-9. Kirby Smart’s defensive unit is clicking at the right time, creating several potential problems for Chambliss and the offense.
When preparing for the dominant defense of Georgia, Chambliss admitted that arguably the most important aspect to beating them is succeeding at in-game adjustments.
“Their defensive coaches are really elite, they’re probably the best coaches in the nation right now when it comes to adjusting… I feel like they’re going to do what they’ve normally done, and we’ll just have to adjust throughout the game.“

Looking ahead to 2026, Chambliss informed the media Sunday that the waiver deciding his eligibility has yet to be decided upon, despite the transfer portal opening the day after the Sugar Bowl.
“I have not (heard anything.) I think they’re closed over the holiday,” Chambliss explained.
