Team Locked In: Wide receiver Cayden Lee and Ole Miss ready for Florida test
OXFORD, Miss. — Just as in 2024, Ole Miss football will once again face Florida with College Football Playoff implications on the line for the Rebels this Saturday. The difference, however, is the game is in Oxford this year, and the home crowd will be electric. Ole Miss wide receiver Cayden Lee believes he and his team are fully focused on the job at hand come Saturday.
Ole Miss Locked in
Last year’s loss in Gainesville was a hammer blow to the Rebels’ playoff chances. Lee was asked earlier this week about the mentality going into that game. Speaking from his personal view, the team was too confident. However, he believes the mindset is much different in 2025.
“Maybe last year, can’t speak too much for that team now, but maybe we just went in there a little too high, a little too confident. I feel like this year we have a really good mindset going into the game. We’re really locked in. We’re listening to all of our coaches’ details, and we’re going to be ready.“

Lee understands the Rebels’ offense is up against a strong defense despite Florida’s record of 3-6. One of those Gator wins came over Texas, and Florida lost by just four points on the road to Georgia. They can be a danger, which is why Lee knows the team will do what they need to do to come out with the W.
“I feel they are coached really well. They have a lot of good players, a lot of talented players, and they are going to come out and play really good defense. Hopefully, we’ll just trust our game plan and we’ll do what we need to do to win.“

Ole Miss fans among the best in the nation
Playing in Vaught-Hemingway is a huge advantage for the Rebels. Just ask head coach Lane Kiffin, who on Monday commented on the upcoming home game.
“It is really cool that if you’re a junior here and you’ve gone to all the home games, you’ve seen one loss. If you’re a fifth year senior, you’ve seen three losses in five years. So that’s that’s a pretty cool thing.“

When asked about the Ole Miss fans, Lee did not hesitate to say they are among the best in the nation. The home crowd will be hugely important during the game, especially when Florida is on offense. Lee cannot wait to hear the noise that will begin with the Walk of Champions.
“Our fans are probably one of the best fans in the nation. They’re going to come out and pack the Vaught. It starts with the Walk of Champions. They’re going to pack that out too, and it’s going to be a really amazing atmosphere.”

The fans will indeed be packing the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on November 15 for a 6:00 p.m. C.T. kick-off. Then, the Rebels enjoy a bye week before the Egg Bowl concludes the regular season on November 28.
