Rebels move up one spot in Associated Press Top 25 after 49-0 win over The Citadel
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss football defeated The Citadel, 49-0, Saturday in Oxford, and on Sunday the Rebels moved up one spot to No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 25 rankings.
Ole Miss soundly pummeled the Bulldogs and remain in the hunt for a potential college football playoff berth. While the Rebels’ offense amassed 603 total yards of offense and 35 first downs, the defense held The Citadel to only five first downs, 23 yards passing and 83 yards on the ground.
There are eight Southeastern Teams in this week’s rankings: Texas A&M (3), Alabama (4), Georgia (5), Ole Miss (6), Texas (10), Oklahoma (11), Vanderbilt (13), Tennessee (21).Â
