Kewan Lacy Named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week After Historic Performance vs. Florida
OXFORD, Miss. — Running back Kewan Lacy has officially etched his name into Rebel history, breaking the single-season touchdown record in the Rebels’ 34-24 win over Florida. He had been tied at 16 touchdowns entering the game, but shattered that with three touchdowns Saturday to reach 19 total. Following that performance, the sophomore star has been named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

A Legendary Night in the Vaught
Under the lights in one of the most important games in modern Ole Miss football history, Lacy delivered the kind of performance that gets talked about for decades. On 31 carries, he rushed for a career-high 224 yards and three touchdowns.
His 224 yards mark the eighth-most in a single game in Ole Miss history and the most by any Rebel since Brandon Bolden’s 228-yard eruption against Fresno State in 2010.
From the moment he touched the football, Lacy ran with purpose and power, breaking tackles, extending drives, and energizing a packed Vaught-Hemingway Stadium that knew exactly what was at stake. On a night when Ole Miss needed a tone-setter, Lacy delivered a full symphony.
A Record Book Rewrite
What Lacy accomplished Saturday goes far beyond one game — he rewrote the Ole Miss record book. With touchdowns No. 17, 18, and 19 on the season, Lacy:
- Broke Quinshon Judkins’ single-season rushing TD record (previously 16)
- Broke the single-season all-purpose TD record (previously 17, held by Judkins, Bolden, and Deuce McAllister)
- Shattered the single-season points record by a non-kicker (114 points)
- Now ranks fourth all-time in single-season scoring by any Rebel
Only kickers Caden Davis (129), Jonathan Nichols (124), and Gary Wunderlich (120) have ever scored more in a single season than Kewan. And Lacy has one regular-season game left.
A Star When Ole Miss Needs One Most
Lacy is the heartbeat of the Ole Miss offense, the steady force who elevates the unit each week. And in a game loaded with playoff implications and swirling storylines, Lacy kept Ole Miss grounded with a relentless performance that pushed the Rebels to 10-1, maintaining their place in the College Football Playoff race.
What’s Next?
With Mississippi State up next in the Egg Bowl, Lacy now sits at 1,136 rushing yards on the season and continues to build one of the greatest single-year campaigns ever by an Ole Miss running back. He’s also tallied 24 receptions for 139 yards.
If the Rebels continue their march toward history, Lacy’s role will be central — and his legacy is already secure.
