First College Football Playoff Rankings of Season Released: Where did Ole Miss Land?

OXFORD, Miss.  — The first College Football Playoff rankings for the season were released this evening, and Ole Miss comes in at No. 6.

The SEC has nine teams in the first round of the CFP rankings: A&M (3), Alabama (4), Georgia (5), Ole Miss (6), Texas (11), Oklahoma (12), Vanderbilt (16), Missouri (22) and Tennessee (25).

Throughout the 2025-26 College Football Playoff season, we’ll get weekly playoff rankings shows on Tuesdays to give us a look at where things stand.

Tonight’s first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2025 season were released at 7 p.m. CT, and this will be the first of five top 25 rankings that will be released every Tuesday through Dec. 2 with the selection show set for December 7. Additional rankings will be released as follows:

Tuesday, Nov. 11 (6 p.m. CT)

Tuesday, Nov. 18 (7:30 p.m. CT)

First round: Friday, Dec. 19 and Saturday, Dec. 20

Quarterfinals: Wednesday, Dec. 31 and Thursday, Jan. 1

Semifinals: Thursday, Jan. 8 and Friday, Jan. 9

National championship: Monday, Jan. 19
