Ole Miss Releases Thursday Availability Report Ahead of Top-10 Showdown at Georgia

OXFORD, Miss. — For the first time in more than a month (September 6th to be exact), No. 5 Ole Miss (6–0, 3–0 SEC) is hitting the road — and it’s for one of the biggest matchups in college football this weekend. The Rebels travel to Athens for a top-10 showdown with No. 9 Georgia (5–1, 3–1 SEC) in a game that could have major implications for both the SEC title race and the College Football Playoff picture.
Oddsmakers currently have the Rebels listed as seven-point underdogs, but Lane Kiffin’s team isn’t shying away from the challenge.
“Going to play at Georgia. I think our players and staff are really excited about that. Anytime you get a chance to play the premier program in college football over the last five years, I think since COVID, they’ve got the winningest record in football and especially dominance in the regular season. I think in what, five years they’ve only lost in the regular season to Alabama and then our game here last year. So, it’s very challenging team to always play, especially there. And so we’re going have to have a great week of preparation and prepare to go on the road in a very tough environment with elite players and in a phenomenal coaching staff led by Kirby (Smart) and what he’s been able to do. I said it yesterday in the call when asked, he finds a way to win a lot of games, um, in a lot of different styles and overcome a lot of adversity in games to keep his team together. And, you know, that’s why he’s the best coach in college football now.”
Lane Kiffin
Kiffin’s respect for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs program is clear — but so is the quiet confidence within Ole Miss. The Rebels are one of just a handful of unbeaten teams remaining in the country and have already shown the ability to win gritty, close games against SEC opponents.
Rebels Relatively Healthy Entering Week 8
The SEC released its official availability report on Thursday, and Ole Miss appears to be in solid shape at the midpoint of the season. Several key playmakers who were banged up earlier this fall are trending in the right direction.

What’s at Stake
This weekend’s matchup isn’t just another conference game — it’s a chance for Ole Miss to prove it belongs among the SEC’s elite. A win in Athens would not only keep the Rebels undefeated but also position them firmly in the College Football Playoff conversation heading into the home stretch of the season.
Kickoff between Ole Miss and Georgia is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC/ESPN.
