Ole Miss moves down one spot in AP Top 25, sets up Top 10 matchup vs Georgia

OXFORD, Miss. — After a 24-21 win over a gritty Washington State team, Ole Miss football has dropped one spot to No. 5 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 rankings.

The Rebels were 32.5-point favorites against the Cougars Saturday and faced a much tougher challenge than anticipated. However, that being said, a win is a win and Ole Miss is undefeated and sitting at 6-0 overall, 3-0 in the SEC. Perhaps the team was looking ahead to this coming Saturday’s matchup vs. No. 9 Georgia — which will also be the College GameDay contest for the week.

There are ten SEC teams in this week’s AP rankings: A&M (4), Ole Miss (5), Alabama (6), Georgia (9), LSU (10), Tennessee (11), Oklahoma (14), Missouri (16), Vanderbilt (17), and Texas (21).
