Ole Miss football rises one spot in AP Top 25 after win over Sooners

OXFORD, Miss. — After a 34-26 win on the road in Norman, Oklahoma, the Ole Miss football team has risen one spot to No. 7 in the nation in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 rankings.

The Rebels took a 22-10 lead into the half in the win over Oklahoma; however, the home team Sooners came storming back to outscore Ole Miss 16-3 in the third quarter to take a 26-25 lead, setting up an epic fourth that would decide the game. In that decisive period, quarterback Trinidad Chambliss led the Rebels to nine points, while the Ole Miss defense bowed its neck and held Oklahoma scoreless.

There are nine Southeastern Conference teams in this week’s AP Top 25: A&M (3), Alabama (4), Georgia (5), Ole Miss (7), Vanderbilt (9), Tennessee (14), Oklahoma (18), Missouri (19), and Texas (20).

Next Up

Ole Miss hosts South Carolina Saturday, November 1 with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
