Ole Miss football remains at same spot in Coaches Poll after win over Oklahoma
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss football remained at No. 8 in the US LBM Coaches Poll this week following the Rebels’ 34-26 win over then-No. 11 Oklahoma. The victory helps position the Rebels for potential spot in the college football playoffs.
Ole Miss (7-1, 4-1 SEC) led 22-10 at halftime, but the Sooners (6-2, 2-2 SEC) scored 13 unanswered across the final five minutes of the third quarter to take a 26-25 lead. But a crucial success by the Rebel offense – led by another strong day by quarterback Trinidad Chambliss – and a forced fumble on a punt by Trace Bruckler (who caught the previous touchdown) helped give Ole Miss the narrow edge for victory.
There are nine Southeastern Conference teams in this week’s Coaches Poll: Texas A&M (3), Alabama (4), Georgia (5), Ole Miss (8), Vanderbilt (11), Tennessee (14), Oklahoma (18), Texas (19), Missouri (20).
