Juice Wells joins Jaxson Dart in New York: Giants sign Rebels’ former WR to practice squad

OXFORD, Miss. — The New York Giants have brought back a familiar face. Antwane “Juice” Wells, once a playmaking receiver in Oxford, has been signed to the Giants’ practice squad, reuniting him with his former Ole Miss teammate, quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Wells had been with the Giants during this year’s training camp but did not make the final 53-man roster. With roster shuffles ongoing, the Giants opened up two practice squad slots and moved quickly to fill one with the former Rebel wideout.
At Ole Miss, Wells and Dart developed strong chemistry, combining for 28 catches, 553 yards, and 6 touchdowns in the 2024 season. Though his path to the NFL has been uncertain, this move gives him another shot to prove himself under the bright lights of the league.
What This Means for Wells, Dart & the Giants
-
Depth and familiarity: The Giants have been hit hard by injuries at receiver. Adding Wells — someone who knows how Dart moves — can offer immediate situational depth.
-
A second chance: For Wells, it’s a restart. Practice squad means opportunity: to polish routes, special teams work, and fight for active roster elevation.
-
A Rebel connection in New York: Fans of Ole Miss will be watching closely. If Wells can make this step, it’s a win not just for him, but for the Rebel alumni pipeline.
What to Watch Next
Wells will work to hopefully elevate himself from the practice squad to a game-day roster, possibly looking to carve out a role on special teams to help accelerate that potential movement. For now, Wells is back in the NFL mix. And as he suits up with the Giants, The Rebel Walk will keep you posted on how it’s going.
