Ole Miss Linebacker Jaden Yates Named SEC Defensive Player of the Week

OXFORD, Miss. — (Release) Ole Miss football junior linebacker Jaden Yates has been named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
Yates helped direct a dominant defensive effort in the Rebels’ 45-10 victory over Tulane last week, the fewest points for the Green Wave in Oxford since 1992 (9) and the fewest overall in the series since 2012 in New Orleans (0). Yates was Ole Miss’ leading tackler with 11 total stops (four solo) and an assisted tackle for loss, the most total tackles by a Rebel in the last 11 games.
The Rebels held Tulane to just 282 yards of offense, including a career-low 56 passing yards for QB Jake Retzlaff.
No. 11 Ole Miss (4-0, 2-0 SEC) is preparing for a ranked clash at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium with No. 4 LSU (4-0, 1-0 SEC). Kickoff this Saturday is slated for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
