Oxford, Miss. – Ole Miss recently advanced to the No. 13 team in the country following last night’s 41-35 win over Arkansas. Earlier tonight, the media spoke with Lane Kiffin to gather his thoughts on the win, starting with his largest critique, scoring a touchdown rather than a field goal early in the fourth quarter.

“I think the biggest thing off of the film was I really wish we would’ve closed the game out, especially when we’re up 10 with the ball and really wanted to go to 17 to make it a three-score game, and we don’t block the right guys.”

Analyzing the positives of the game, Trinidad Chambliss threw for over 350 yards and rushed for two touchdowns in his SEC debut. Four wide receivers caught for 60 or more yards, and Kewan Lacy gathered 84 all-purpose yards.

Additionally, the Rebs scored 30+ points for the second week in a row for the first time in SEC games since 2023. Kiffin took time on tonight’s call to credit Charlie Weis Jr for the success of the offense this season.

“Charlie does a great job, I know a lot of people around here don’t think that… last year he took Jaxson Dart to the first round and did a great job last night with a new quarterback… I think Charlie does a great job, for whatever reason, it sounds like people don’t think that.”

Elaborating on the impact of Weis, Kiffin recognized the difficulty of practice this week, figuring out if Austin of Trinidad would be starting come gametime.

“Last night after the game, I felt drained. It was a really long week… We really designed two full different game plans depending on which player was going. This is why I give Charlie a lot of credit, look at another team in the SEC when they lost their quarterback in their game… playing with a new quarterback, it’s hard to call a game, especially when the quarterback is different than the other quarterback.”

Moving into next week, Kiffin implied there is no major injury regarding Simmons but that he will need more time to recover. Ole Miss will host Tulane in the Vaught at 2:30 pm. Hotty Toddy and go Rebs.
