Injury Update for Ole Miss QB Austin Simmons: Ole Miss Football Availability Report Released Wednesday

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss football welcomes Arkansas to Vaught-Hemingway Saturday in the Rebels’ second SEC showdown of the 2025 football season.
The big question for Ole Miss (2-0, 1-0 SEC) heading into Saturday night’s contest is the injury status of quarterback Austin Simmons. The Southeastern Conference released the league’s first availability report of the week Wednesday, and there are seven Rebels on the list — including Simmons.
Simmons suffered an ankle injury in the Rebels’ road win over Kentucky last Saturday, and Trinidad Chambliss came on in his absence. Both Simmons and head coach Lane Kiffin indicated after the game that Simmons would be fine to play against Arkansas. Reports this week from inside the program, however, have told The Rebel Walk Simmons has been wearing a walking boot this week, and Trinidad Chambliss has taken first team reps.
On the first availability report for the week, Simmons is listed as “Probable” for the game. One thing of note — and not saying it’s related, but… — the Vegas line on the game changed significantly. Ole Miss opened as a 9.5-point to 10-point favorite, but as of this writing it is down to a 7-point spread.
Wide receiver Traylon Ray is listed as “Out” against the Hogs, while former Arkansas defensive back Jaylon Braxton is listed as “Questionable.”
Along with Simmons, listed as “Probable” are: wide receivers Harrison Wallace III and Deuce Alexander, tight end Dae’Quan Wright, and running back Kewan Lacy.Â
