Four-Star, In-State OT Emanuel Tucker Flips From LSU to Ole Miss

Four-Star, In-State OT Emanuel Tucker Flips From LSU to Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. — Lane Kiffin and the Rebels just landed a huge win on the recruiting trail. On Thursday, four-star offensive tackle Emanuel Tucker announced he is flipping his commitment from LSU to Ole Miss.

“The best in the Sip, stay in the Sip!” Tucker declared when making his decision.

At 6-foot-7, 290 pounds, Tucker has a rare combination of size, quickness, and power that’s clear even from his high school tape.

A standout from New Albany (Miss.), he moves like a basketball athlete — a two-sport star who’s also a state champion in discus with videos showing his explosiveness and ability to snap out of his hips in both run and pass blocking.

2026 Lineman Emanuel Tucker Happy to Receive Ole Miss Offer: ‘It’s a school that my family loves and an offer that I’ve been wanting’

The New Albany (Miss.) product has had quite the journey. Tucker was originally pledged to Mississippi State before backing off that commitment on June 2. Just over a week later, he gave his verbal to Brian Kelly and LSU, choosing the Tigers over Ole Miss after official visits to both Baton Rouge and Oxford. The Rebels, however, never let up in their pursuit — and their persistence has paid off.

After returning to Oxford last weekend, Tucker saw what he needed to see. He is now officially on board with the Rebels, giving Ole Miss the dominant in-state talent they were determined not to let slip away twice.

With Tucker in the fold, Kiffin and his staff now hold 16 commitments in the 2025 cycle. The class currently ranks No. 25 nationally according to 247Sports and No. 21 via Rivals.

Tucker himself is ranked as the No. 20 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 11 overall prospect in the state of Mississippi — another statement pickup that shows Ole Miss is keeping top talent home.

David Walker

David Walker was named Louisiana’s High School Player of the Year at just 16 years old and, at 17, became college football’s first quarterback to earn Freshman of the Year honors. He remains the NCAA’s youngest-ever starting quarterback, a distinction that has stood for decades.

Transitioning from a wide-open high school offense to Emory Bellard’s renowned wishbone triple option, Walker excelled as a dual-threat quarterback. He graduated as Texas A&M’s all-time winningest quarterback and served as a two-time team captain, helping to transform a program that had endured 15 losing seasons in the previous 16 years.

After his playing career, Walker coached and taught algebra at six Texas high schools before moving into private business. In 2011, he published his memoir, “I’ll Tell You When You’re Good,” a title inspired by the coaching philosophy of Shannon Suarez, the Sulphur High and Louisiana High School Hall of Fame coach who was a significant influence on Walker’s life and career.

Walker’s compelling storytelling in his autobiography reflects the breadth of his experiences in high school and college football, and it is an undeniable fact that he saw more action than any athlete in the history of the NCAA. Since 2013, he has contributed to The Rebel Walk, sharing his insights and expertise with readers.
