Where Ole Miss Sits in the Preseason Coaches Poll

OXFORD, Miss. — Head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels are on the verge of the 2025 football season, and as they start up their second week of fall camp, the preseason top 25 Coaches Poll has been released.

After eight draft picks and record-setting quarterback Jaxson Dart now with the New York Giants, it still seems as though other head coaches still recognize Ole Miss’ potential with Kiffin at the helm, proven in the Rebels’ appearance at No. 15.

For the 2025 season, the Ole Miss offense will be led by Austin Simmons, who now has plenty of weapons around him thanks to the coaching staff’s work in the transfer portal.

The wide receiver corps is a strength of the Rebels’ offense and something that Kiffin said he hopes will be a strength of the team. However, there are still some questions waiting to be answered regarding some other positions, questions that will likely get answered as the Rebels continue fall camp and hold a few scrimmages.

Ole Miss is one of nine SEC teams to be featured in the coaches poll, with Texas headlining the list at No. 1. Georgia (No. 4), Alabama (No. 8), LSU (No. 9), and South Carolina (No. 13) all rank ahead of Ole Miss. Florida (No. 17), Tennessee (No. 18), and Texas A&M (No. 21) all fall behind

Kiffin has consistently elevated the Ole Miss football program, and what others outside the program say doesn’t matter. What happens when the Rebels step on the football field is the only thing that does matter. Ole Miss will kick off the 2025 season on Aug. 30  against Georgia State at 6:45 PM CT on SEC Network.

Until then, Ole Miss fans can look out for the first AP Poll release on Aug. 11 and continuous updates through the Rebels’ fall camp. For now, here is the full top 25 Coaches Poll:
