“SCSO detectives are investigating a shooting that took place at about 10:14 pm outside a residence on Fern Glade Cove in Cordova,” the office wrote.
“When deputies arrived at the intersection of Forest Hill-Irene and Walnut Grove, they stopped a vehicle, finding an adult male gunshot victim. They provided life-saving measures until Shelby County Fire arrived. Shelby County Fire personnel later pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.”
Adams, a standout defensive lineman from Edna Karr High School in New Orleans, was part of the Rebels’ 2025 signing class. A former three-star recruit, he had enrolled early at Ole Miss and took part in spring practices as a true freshman.
Adams’ high school football team shared their condolences online:
“Corey Adams was more than a football player. He was a friend, brother, son, student, and an all-around great young man.”
The case remains an active homicide investigation.
Our prayers go out to Corey’s family, friends and all those who love him.
