Ole Miss Freshman All-American Pitcher Miali Guachino Enters Transfer Portal

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss star pitcher Miali Guachino has entered the transfer portal after one season with the Rebels.

This past season, the Rebels reached the Women’s College World Series for the first time in program history — after having been predicted to finish 14th in the league in preseason voting.

A four-star recruit from Pala, California, Guachino appeared in 40 games for Ole Miss in 2025, posting a 3.43 ERA as opponents hit .223 against her in 136 innings of work.

Guachino also finished top three in strikeouts among freshman pitchers in the country, setting the program’s single-game strikeout record with 19 strikeouts against Southern Miss in February. The Rebel staff, as a whole, set a new single-season record for strikeouts for the program with 385.

Guachino is the first player to enter the portal for the Rebels. Head Coach Jamie Traschel has already added Kentucky shortstop Cassie Reasner, who hit .267 with 10 home runs and 33 RBI for the Wildcats in 2025.

After reaching the Women’s College World Series for the first time in program history earlier this month, Traschel will have to replace a lot of important pieces, especially on the mound. With seniors Aliyah Binford, Bri Lopez, and Alison Cooper, the Rebels do not return any innings.

Departing seniors Angelina Deleon and Lexie Brady also leave great resumes behind from their tenures at Ole Miss and are key pieces Trachsel will look to replace.

Last season, Ole Miss finished 42-21 and also made the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight season. The Rebels are set to have returning players Mackenzie Pickens, Persy Llamas, and Addison Duke, young stars with much experience upon which the team can rely.
