Ole Miss Baseball adds lively left-handed pitcher in Mizzou transfer Wil Libbert

Oxford, Miss. – Ole Miss baseball continues to stay hot on the recruiting trail, adding their fourth overall transfer and second transfer pitcher, Wil Libbert.
Beginning his college career in 2024, Libbert underwent successful Tommy John surgery, allowing him to redshirt his freshman year at Missouri.

After fully recovering, Libbert played his first year at Mizzou this past season, proving to be a crucial piece of the Tigers’ pitching staff. Wil pitched 53.2 innings and allowed 36 earned runs while striking out 55 batters.
According to analysts, Libbert’s slider, paired with a fastball that reaches up to 95 mph, makes him a high-ceiling prospect with several years to boost his MLB Draft stock. Working under pitching coach Joel Mangrum, expect the Missouri native to be relied on heavily next spring.
This summer in the Cape Cod League, Libbert started the first game of the season last night for the Harbor Hawks, throwing four innings, striking out six, and allowing zero runs.
