Recruiting Rundown: Lane Kiffin, Rebels host No. 1 tight end in country, 5-star Mark Bowman

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss football is picking up steam on the recruiting trail, focusing strong efforts on the 2026 class. Highlighting the top of the staff’s targets is Mark Bowman, a five-star tight end and Colorado native who took his first official visit this past weekend — and did so to Ole Miss.

Despite originally being recruited in the 2027 class, Bowman’s unique 6-foot-5, 225-pound frame, paired with his overall talent, allowed him to reclassify into the 2026 class with no problems. Mark spends his falls under the lights at Mater Dei High School, one of the top-ranked programs in the country and the same place where Bryce Young spent his junior and senior years.
This past season, Bowman was the only sophomore named to the MaxPreps All-American team, collecting eight touchdowns and hauling in 435 receiving yards on 32 passes.
On the recruiting trail, Bowman announced that he’ll be considering the following seven teams over the next few months: Miami, Oregon, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Southern California, Georgia, and Texas. Despite already taking a visit to Ole Miss, Bowman plans to visit his other top schools over the course of the summer.
