OXFORD, Miss. – (Release) Fresh off qualifying for the first Women’s College World Series in program history, the No. 17 Ole Miss softball program has also been recognized for their work off the field, as four Rebels earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.
Lexie Brady, Angelina DeLeon, Brianna Lopez and Jaden Pone were named to the CSC All-District Team. Brady, DeLeon and Lopez all earn an All-District nod for the second consecutive season, while Pone earns it for the first time at Ole Miss.
Brady and Pone were selected as finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
The quartet have been leaders on and off the field, which each playing key starting roles and excelling in the classroom. Their efforts have coincided with a standout academic campaign from the Rebels as a whole, who recorded a record-breaking fall semester GPA and have shined again in the spring.
The Rebels will open action at the Women’s College World Series on Thursday, May 29 at 6 p.m. CT, facing the No. 12 seed Texas Tech. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
