
No. 17 Ole Miss Softball Drops Game Two of Super Regional at No. 4 Arkansas; Rubber Game Set for Sunday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – (Release) The No. 17 Ole Miss softball program dropped game two of the NCAA Fayetteville Super Regional, 4-0, to No. 4 Arkansas on Saturday night at Bogle Park.
The Rebels (41-19, 11-13 SEC) held the Razorbacks (44-13, 14-10 SEC). to just six hits and two earned runs, but were unable to bounce back from an early deficit. The result forces a decisive game three on Sunday.
Arkansas was the first to strike in the first inning, scoring a pair of runs on a bases loaded RBI groundout and an infield single.
Ole Miss had a chance to respond in the second inning, as Mackenzie Pickens drew a walk and Angelina DeLeon singled to put Pickens in scoring position. However, the Razorbacks danced out of trouble.
Despite the deficit, starter Brianna Lopez was largely able to settle in after the opening inning, with three straight scoreless frames and five strikeouts through four innings.
The hosts would strike again in the fifth inning, capitalizing on a pair of Ole Miss errors, making it 4-0.
Miali Guachino entered the game in the sixth inning and maintained her composure in the hostile environment, getting through two scoreless frames.
However, the offense was unable to generate late momentum, as the Razorbacks secured the victory.

Ole Miss and Arkansas will battle in the Super Regional final on Sunday at 4 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
