Former Rebel Ryan Rolison Headed to the Major Leagues With the Rockies

DENVER, Colo. – (Release) For the fourth time in three weeks, a Rebel will be called up to The Show as Ryan Rolison is set to join the Colorado Rockies Sunday before their game against the San Diego Padres.
Rolison is the 57th Rebel in program history to make it to the big leagues. He is one of eight first round picks to come out of Ole Miss, being selected as the 22nd overall pick by Colorado in the 2018 MLB Draft.
In twelve games with Triple-A Albuquerque this season, Rolison has pitched to the tune of a 3-1 record with a 3.72 ERA and 23 strikeouts primarily out of the bullpen. He has worked mostly in a relief role since being sidelined by a shoulder injury that took all of his 2022 season and most of his 2023 season to recover from.
Rolison pitched in two seasons at Ole Miss before being drafted, appearing in 36 games and starting 26 of them. He had a 16-7 career record with a 3.45 ERA and 184 strikeouts in 159.0 innings.
In 2018, Rolison became just the third Rebel ever to post a 10-win, 100-strikeout season. He went 10-4 with 3.70 ERA and 120 strikeouts over 97.1 innings of work. He made one relief appearance that season, working two hitless innings in the Rebels’ win over LSU that made them the 2018 SEC Tournament Champions.
Rolison struck out a career-high 13 batters in game one of the 2018 Oxford Regional against Tennessee Tech and was named to the Regional All-Tournament team.
