WATCH: Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco, Hunter Elliott and Mitchell Sanford talk Rebels’ 8-3 win over Vandy in Game 1
OXFORD, Miss. — The No. 23 Ole Miss baseball team took game one of the series against No. 9 Vanderbilt by a score of 8-3, Friday night at Swayze Field. The Rebels were boosted by the long ball offensively with three home runs from Hayden Federico, Luke Hill, and Judd Utermark.
The win marked was No. 30 on the year for Ole Miss marking the 22nd time under the direction of head coach Mike Bianco that the Rebels have tallied 30 or more wins in a single season.
After the game, Coach Bianco, pitcher Hunter Elliott, and outfielder Mitchell Sanford met with media. On the day, Sanford was 3-4 with a double. Elliott finished with a final line of: 5 innings pitched, 2 hits, one run, one earned run, five walks and six strikeouts. He threw 99 total pitches.
