
Los Angeles Rams select former Ole Miss linebacker Chris ‘Pooh’ Paul in 5th Round of 2025 NFL Draft

GREEN BAY, Wis. – In the 5th round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams have selected former Ole Miss linebacker Chris “Pooh” Paul Jr. with the 172nd overall pick.

Collegiate Career
Pooh Paul began his career in Arkansas, where he initially used a redshirt in his freshman year. Over the next two years as a Razorback, Paul played in 28 games, collecting 137 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and six sacks. Proving his capabilities and potential in the SEC, Paul, like many other high-profile defenders, entered the portal and committed to Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss.

In his redshirt junior season, Paul started 11 games at linebacker while leading the team with 88 tackles and totaling 11 tackles for loss and an interception. Having the ability to be effective in the rush and pass defense, Paul earned himself spots on the USA Today All-American team, along with the College Football Network’s All-SEC First Team.
NFL Combine
Upon attending the combine, Paul’s official measurements listed him at a 6-foot-1 height, weighing 222 pounds. During his time at Lucas Oil Stadium, the Rebel ran a 4.63 40-yard dash time while recording a 36.00″ vertical jump and a 9’9″ broad jump. His athleticism and competitiveness have continuously proven that he’ll make an immediate impact in the NFL.
