Collegiate Career
Umanmielen played his first three years of college with the Florida Gators, where he turned himself into a highly coveted NFL Draft prospect. From 2020 to 2023, the Texas native played in 45 games, recording 99 total tackles, 15 sacks, and an All-SEC second-team selection in 2023.
Fortunately for Ole Miss, he entered the transfer portal and joined one of the best defensive lines in the country, featuring several other NFL Draft prospects. In 12 games, Umanmielen led Pete Golding’s defense with 10.5 sacks while notching 37 total tackles and 13.5 tackles for loss. His 10.5 sacks were also the second most in single-season history for Ole Miss.
