This past week, to conclude the season, Chris Beard’s unit took down No. 4-ranked Tennessee in dramatic fashion, and then suffered a 19-point loss to Florida in Gainesville Saturday. Overall, the Rebs finished the regular season with a 21-10 record, going 10-8 in conference.
Looking further at the tournament, Ole Miss will play its first game at noon on Thursday against the winner of Arkansas vs. South Carolina. If they win, the Rebs would then face the No. 1 seeded Auburn Tigers on Friday, who defeated Ole Miss twice in the regular season. The other top four seeds include No. 2 Florida, No. 3 Alabama, and No. 4 Tennessee.
As it stands for March Madness, ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi currently ranks Ole Miss as a No. 6 seed with the potential to be bumped up to a five, or down to a seven based off their performance in Nashville. Though their seeding has the potential to fluctuate, this will be the first time since 2019 that Ole Miss will be in the NCAA tournament.
