ARLINGTON — Ole Miss Baseball earned a win in the season-opener Friday in Arlington, defeating No. 21 Arizona 2-1. The Rebels have now won five-consecutive season openers and 14 of their last 15.

Hunter Elliott returned to the mound in dominant fashion after missing almost two full years following Tommy John surgery. Elliott was outstanding, pitching five shutout innings in his first start since April 2023. He allowed just two hits and struck out three batters on his way to his first win since the 2023 season opener against Delaware.
In his first game as a Rebel, Isaac Humphrey went 2-for-3 with a solo home run that would prove to be the difference for Ole Miss.
After the game, head coach Mike Bianco, Elliott and Humphrey met with media.

Ole Miss faces another ranked team Saturday night as the Rebs play No. 19 Texas in their second game of the Shriners Children’s College Showdown. The 19th-ranked Longhorns dropped their season opener to Louisville, 4-3, in extra innings Friday evening at Globe Life Field. First pitch against Texas is set for 7:00 p.m.
