Profiles of the 2025 Ole Miss Football Transfer Class: Introducing Offensive Lineman PJ Wilkins

OXFORD, Miss. – With the conclusion of the 2025 winter transfer portal window, the Ole Miss class ranks No. 2 in the nation and includes several future NFL Draft picks. As we inch closer to the start of spring practice, The Rebel Walk is highlighting these players and their effectiveness on the field so fans can get to know the newcomers.

In this series, we’ve looked at transfer defensive lineman Da’Shawn Womack, and you can click HERE to learn more about him.

Today, we introduce Lane Kiffin’s first offensive line commit of the 2025 transfers, PJ Wilkins.

Career Outlook

Wilkins played high school ball at St. Francis Academy, the same school as transfer defensive lineman Da’Shawn Womack.  PJ, a three-star recruit, chose to pursue his collegiate career at UNC-Charlotte over Georgia Tech, who was heavily involved in his recruitment.

As a 49er, Wilkins took a redshirt year in 2023. He played left guard in 2024, and he and his 6-foot-7, 340-pound frame were consistently relied upon.

Upon entering the transfer portal this winter, Wilkins received interest from a number of schools, including  Ole Miss, Illinois, Cincinnati, Memphis, and more before finally committing to the red and blue. As stated in an interview with The Rebel Walk, PJ’s attraction to becoming a Rebel started when he met Ole Miss offensive line coach John Garrison.

I’ve had a really good conversation with Coach Garrison, and I like him as a person and coach. He’s coached a lot of guys that I look up to in the NFL today, and I thought that was pretty cool.

2025 Impact

Having the frame of a tackle while being accustomed to playing guard allows Wilkins to fit in a versatile role on Lane Kiffin’s 2025 offensive line. With the Rebels losing starting and depth pieces like Nate Kalepo, Julius Buelow, Jeremy James, Gerquan Scott, Caleb Warren and others, Wilkins has a chance to get on the field relatively quickly and will have three years of eligibility remaining. He is also one of 40 early enrollees the Rebels have who are already on campus in school and working out.

Ole Miss fans, you can expect to become familiar with the name PJ Wilkins. And keep in mind, he is also the nephew of NBA legends Dominique and Gerald Wilkins, so incredible athleticism runs in the family.

What’s Next?

Next up, we will discuss another glass eater, Patrick Kutas, the former Arkansas Razorback. For more portal analysis and all of your Ole Miss sports needs, be sure to stay tuned with The Rebel Walk. Hotty Toddy!
