Former Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart intends to throw at upcoming NFL Combine

OXFORD, Miss. – The NFL Combine will begin this week, and 11 Ole Miss players from the 2024 roster will be in attendance, all in Indianapolis to be evaluated and scouted by personnel from the 32 NFL teams. Former Rebel quarterback Jaxson Dart — and where he will be selected — is a hot topic among those who follow the draft. The signal caller will participate in both team and media interviews throughout the week and conclude with his on-field workouts on Saturday, March 1st.

In past combines, some quarterbacks have elected not to throw in the on-field portions of the evaluations and, instead, choose to throw on campus at their school’s Pro Day. That is not the case with Dart. The Rebel Walk has learned from sources close to Dart that he, indeed, intends to throw at the combine.

Reports indicate the draft’s potential top two quarterbacks who will be taken, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward, will not throw in Indy, leaving Dart an excellent opportunity to showcase his skills in front of NFL executives.

NFL Network analyst Tom Pelissero confirms what our sources say — that Dart will be throwing at the combine. Pelissero indicates Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Notre Dame’s Riley Leonard will also throw.

Dart enjoyed a very strong season for the Rebels in 2024, as the gunslinger threw for 4,279 yards, the third-most in college football. Not only was Jaxson elite on a national level, but he also set various school records at Ole Miss. In addition to throwing the most passing yards in a single season, he generated the most total yards in a Rebel career (12,115) and finished with the highest number of wins as a starting quarterback (28).

Whether he is selected in the first or second round, one NFL team will be lucky to have such a passionate competitor on their roster.

As we progress into the combine, be sure to stay tuned with The Rebel Walk for all of your Ole Miss sports coverage.
