According to one NFL Draft expert, Lane Kiffin’s 2024 team could have most Rebels in Top 100 since 1962
OXFORD, Miss. – With the help of the transfer portal, head coach Lane Kiffin’s 2024 Ole Miss roster consisted of a number of NFL prospects, and through their production a majority of them are preparing to hear their name called at the NFL Draft in April. In historic fashion, the Rebels have a chance this year to see five or more players selected in the top 100 for the first time since 1962. In fact, one renowned draft expert lists seven Ole Miss players in his top 100 players.
Noted NFL Draft analyst and WWL AM/FM Radio Host Mike Detiller ranks these Rebels in the top 100 players for this year’s 2025 Draft:
- Walter Nolen (19)
- Jaxson Dart (24)
- Princely Umanmielen (35)
- Trey Amos (59)
- Tre Harris (61)
- Jared Ivey (74)
- Chris “Pooh” Paul Jr. (86)
Note, this is not the spot he believes they’ll be chosen in the draft, but rather his ratings of where each of these Rebels lands in the top 100 players.
If you’re wondering, in 1962 Rebel players were all over the top 100: Billy Ray Adams (49ers) selected 36th overall; Glynn Griffing (Giants) 54th; Treva (Bookie) Bolin (Giants) 58th; Chuck Morris (Packers) 65th; and Jerry Brown (Giants) to top it off as the 76th pick. That’s the most Ole Miss players taken in the top 100 — a mark that could be broken this year.
Detillier on Jaxson Dart
According to Detillier’s analysis, former Rebel quarterback Jaxson Dart also has an opportunity to be the first Ole Miss quarterback drafted in the first round since Eli Manning in 2004.
“I would say (he would go) from 14-22 in Round 1, but it only takes one team to fall in love with him and he could go higher. He really helped himself out at the Senior Bowl.“

Jaxson Dart is trending the same way as Bo Nix last Draft cycle.
People started off with – Nix is a second rounder of course!
Boom he goes 12th overall… Dart is moving up with the same velocity and momentum pic.twitter.com/6TbxFIJqXB

One nuance I’ve seen from Jaxson Dart on tape this yr (and here to Jack Bech) is recognition of defenders with their back turned to the ball (typically man cvg). He’s become extremely comfortable placing throws like this, putting his target in great shape to make play on ball. pic.twitter.com/8c2RpzejTI
