Ole Miss wide receiver Ayden Williams enters transfer portal

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss sophomore wide receiver Ayden Williams has entered the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz.

Williams was a highly-touted recruit in the 2023 class. He was a four-star prospect and the No. 2 overall player in the state of Mississippi.

The Ridgeland, Mississippi native committed to the Rebels over offers from South Carolina, Auburn, Colorado, Florida and others.

With Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins, Cayden Lee and Juice Wells on the roster, Williams didn’t see much time on the field. He notched just seven catches for 119 yards in his career.

Although the portal closed December 28, players have five days following their last bowl/playoff game to enter the portal.

Ole Miss has added three wide receivers from the portal: Caleb Odom (Alabama), De’Zhaun Stribling (Oklahoma State) and Deuce Alexander (Wake Forest).

Ole Miss players who have also entered the portal include: Walker Howard, Rashad Amos, Mana Taimani, Kavion Broussard, Key Lawrence, Jack Mills, Rodney Groce Jr., Micah Pettus, Matt Jones, AJ Brown, Trip White, Preston Cushman, Jadon Canady, Louis Moore and Micah Davis as Ole Miss’ outgoing transfers.
