Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss add Louisville transfer quarterback Pierce Clarkson, a former four-star recruit
Ole Miss has added Louisville transfer quarterback Pierce Clarkson out of the portal, as announced Monday. Clarkson, a former four-star recruit, is a redshirt freshman from the class of 2023 who will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
He entered the portal last month.

Clarkson’s dad, Steve Clarkson, is a renowned quarterbacks coach on the west coast.
In his two seasons with the Cardinals, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound Clarkson appeared in three games, completing 4-of-6 passes for 18 yards.
Clarkson, as mentioned above, was a four-star recruit out of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco High School. He was ranked the No. 31 overall prospect in the state and the No. 26 QB in the class.
As a senior in high school, Clarkson threw for 1,903 yards and 26 touchdowns. As a junior, he tallied 1,416 passing yards and 16 TDs while rushing for 254 yards and four TDs.
Clarkson picked Louisville over Ole Miss Arizona, Colorado, Arkansas, Michigan State, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Indiana, Purdue, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, and others.

As Jaxson Dart heads to the NFL, the Rebels are looking for depth in a quarterback room that must replace the three-year starter. Austin Simmons is widely expected to take over the role of starting quarterback. The Rebels also have AJ Maddox and now the talented Clarkson.
Clarkson is the 22nd commit for the Rebels With Pierce Clarkson, Ole Miss moved up to the No. 2 overall transfer portal class in the country.
