History Made: Ole Miss Cheer Wins D1A All Girl National Title

ORLANDO, Fla. – (Release) For the first time in program history, the Ole Miss cheer team won a national championship in the Division IA Traditional All Girl category at the Universal Cheerleaders Association College Nationals.

Ole Miss earned a score of 88.5 in the semifinals on Saturday to advance to Sunday’s finals. The Rebels went on to win the national title with a 91.4 in the finals.

The title marks the Rebels’ fourth UCA national championship overall in the last eight years. Ole Miss finished first in 2018 and 2022 in the D1A All Girl Game Day category, as well as bringing home top honors in 2023 in the D1A Spirit Program Game Day competition.

“I’m extremely proud of this team and these athletes,” head cheer coach Skylar Casey said. “They worked so hard for this accomplishment and they completely deserve it. The culture and standard that this team set is extraordinary.

“I am so thankful to be these athletes head coach. They are phenomenal people in and out of cheerleading. It’s more than winning, it’s a sisterhood. I’m excited for them to celebrate this moment together.”

In addition to claiming the All Girl crown, the Rebels’ finished fourth in the D1A Spirit Program Game Day category and the coed squad finished ninth nationally in the traditional cheer section.

In the D1A Spirit Program Game Day category, both Cheer and Rebelettes competed together on stage to create one action-packed performance. The teams were evaluated on their ability to lead the crowd, proper game day skill incorporations, execution of skills, motion technique and overall routine.
