Trey Amos discusses All-America selection, reflects upon his time at Ole Miss: ‘I loved every second of being here and felt like that’s what made me have a great season’
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss will travel to Jacksonville to take on Duke in the Gator Bowl on January 2nd, looking to pick up the Rebels’ 10th win of the season. If successful, head coach Lane Kiffin and his team will have reached that 10-win mark for the third time in the last four years. Throughout the week, Ole Miss fans have seen numerous players announce they will be playing in the game and one of those is cornerback Trey Amos, a projected first-round draft pick.
On Wednesday, Amos met with media and offered insight into how the team is approaching the game.
“I feel like we still have a lot to prepare for this bowl game, and I feel like everybody is really excited to play against Duke, but we’re just getting prepared and getting ready.“

Amos, a transfer in from Alabama, talked more about Duke, recognizing that the Blue Devils’ first and second-string quarterbacks have entered the transfer portal. Despite the chaos, Trey says the defense has been watching film on Duke’s third-string quarterback, Henry Belin IV.
“After the quarterback situation, we did look over some film on the third string to see a little bit of the offensive scheme that they run, but we’re going to look at more film and look into that.“

In the process of preparing for Duke, along with the NFL Combine, Amos was recently selected to The Sporting News All-America team, as they recognized him as one of the best defenders in the country. When asked about the accolade, Amos stated that it starts with the simple idea of working hard on a daily basis.
